Please recycle steel (Tin) food cans through the city's Blue box recycling program.

Empty paint cans will be accepted by a scrap metal dealer for recycling.

 

Cars

Donate your old cars to car heaven.

 

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Carbon monoxide detectors can be disposed with regular garbage.

 

Carpet

New carpet is accepted at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store.

 

If the carpet should be disposed, please take it to the Brady Road landfill. Information on Brady Road landfill is also available by calling the recycling and garbage information line at 986-8888.

 

Cartons

Please recycle milk and juice cartons through the city's Blue box recycling program.

Cellular phones

Manitobans now have the opportunity to recycle their cellular telephones through the Recycle My Cell program

 

Recycle My Cell will accept your cell phones, smartphones, wireless PDA's, batteries and pagers – regardless of brand or condition.

 

As well, Canadian Diabetes Association offers Canadians the opportunity to conveniently donate their unwanted cell phone(s).

 

Ceramic Tiles

Ceramic tiles are accepted at Rocky Road Recycling for recycling for a small fee. Please contact Rocky Road Recycling at 204-832-7802 for additional information.

 

CD-ROM

CD-ROMs/DVDs will be accepted at Computers for Schools (CFS), Best Buy and Future Shop for recycling.

 

CFLs

DO NOT dispose with regular garbage. Please recycle used compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs at your nearest Home Depot or RONA store.

Chairs

Chairs with no fabric will be accepted at Habitat for Humanity Re-Store.

Store Christmas lights for next year. If they are in bad shape, please dispose them with your regular household garbage.

Please recycle your Christmas tree through the city of Winnipeg's Christmas tree recycling program.

 

Cleaning Products

Cleaning products are considered as hazardous waste and proper disposal is required.  Please contact Miller Environmental Corporation at 204-925-9600 for additional information.

 

Clothing

Used clothing, towels and draperies are accepted by Canadian Diabetes Association for pick-up.

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters Winnipeg also accepts used clothes as donations. Please call 204-943-5437 to schedule a free pick-up.

 

Computer: Keyboards, Monitors, Hard Drives

Computer keyboards, monitors, CPUs and hard drives will be accepted at these e-waste management firms throughout the year.

 

Concrete

Reinforced or unreinforced concrete is accepted at Rocky Road Recycling for recycling. Please contact Rocky Road Recycling at 204-832-7802 for additional information.

 

 

Cooking Oil
Cooking oil should not be poured down a drain. Contact Rothsay Recycles at 204- 233-7347 to donate or recycle your used cooking oil.

 

If you want to dispose it, please put the used cooking oil in a container with a tight sealing lid and place it in the garbage.

 

Copiers

Copiers will be accepted at these e-waste management firms throughout the year.

 

Copper Piping

Copper pipes will be accepted by a scrap metal dealer for recycling.

 

Corrugated Cardboard

Please recycle corrugated cardboard through the city's Blue box recycling program.

Crayons

Crayon recycling is a great idea for schools and daycares. Broken crayons can be turned into candles or Crazy Crayons accepts them for recycling.
