In addition, Winnipeg Harvest is calling on Winnipeggers to donate used grocery bags.
Paper bags can be recycled through the city's Blue box recycling program.

Plastic bags do not break down easily in landfill sites. Therefore, please reuse them to the maximum and dispose of with your regular garbage.

Rechargeable batteries and batteries of used laptops, cellular phones, camcorders and portable electronic equipment can be recycled at your nearest Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation drop off site.
Non-Rechargeable batteries e.g. A, AA, AAA, C, D, 6V, 9V, coin or button shaped can be brought to your nearest Future Shop or Best Buy location for recycling.
Additionally, you can return your used batteries, purchased from Mountain Equipment Co-Op (MEC), to the Member Service Desk of an MEC store and they will recycle them for you free of charge.

Bulky Items such as mattresses, box springs, chairs, couches and other furniture, fridges, freezers, stoves, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, air-conditioners and other large appliances will not be picked up with your regular garbage collection.

Bricks are accepted at Rocky Road Recycling for recycling for a small fee. Please contact Rocky Road Recycling at 204-832-7802 for additional information.
If not, this waste can be taken to the Brady Road landfill for disposal. There is a small fee per vehicle.
