Big Issues for Small Business

More and more consumers are turning to reusable bags, less packaging and local goods and services. Green Manitoba is developing partnerships to find solutions for consumers and small business alike through a new program aimed at assisting small business check out Smart Shops to learn more.

 

A recent Canada-wide study conducted by The Canadian Federation of Independent Business states that Environmental issues have grown to become a high priority for Canadians.  Owners of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) share this intense focus on the environment. SMEs are often overlooked, but given their position as local community leaders, employ­ers and residents—their views are more similar to those of ordinary Canadians than to large industry. Like the Canadian public, their opin­ions are diverse but balanced, and they are in a unique position to offer practical approaches to dealing with a wide variety of environmen­tal issues.
